There are 3 main types of schools in Taiwan.
Once you hold a Bachelor degree or if you hold a diploma with a teaching certificate(TESOL/TEFL/CELTA), you can teach in cram schools, or many people call it Buxiban/Language School.
The salary range is between NT48,000-60,000, depends on hours you teach, some also pay fix salary monthly. Other benefits are different in every school.
Both private school and public school are so called “regular schools”. As you may imagine, they set a higher standard that teachers who want to apply for the jobs must hold a teaching license from the government of his/her country. The difference wit a public school is that some allow teachers hold an ARPC(alien resident permanent certificate) or MARC(marriage alien resident certificate) to teach since it doesn’t against the law.
The salary range is between NT65,000-70,000, some international school provide much higher if you’re really a professional teacher. Other benefits are different in every school.
For public schools, teachers must hold a teaching license from the government of his/her country.
Teachers can get a stable job in public schools, and of course, you have to be good at teaching or at least meet their standard.
The starting salary is similar to private schools around NT62,000-70,000, the good thing is that all public schools provide housing allowance and flight reimbursement, it can be different amounts in every city.
P.S. The teaching license public schools and private schools request doesn’t mean TESOL/TEFL/CELTA.
